Just announced are six dynamic additions to the 2011-2012 season at The Music Hall, the region’s center for performing arts. More music, comedy and literary events are on the way. Tickets for the just announced additions go on sale to Music Hall members at noon, Friday, March 16, and to non-members at noon, Friday, March 30.

Additions to the Writers in the Loft series will include Susan Cain (5/1) with her paradigm-shifting book, Quiet: The Power of Introverts in a World That Can’t Stop Talking and New York Times bestselling author, Elin Hilderbrand (6/26) with her newest page-turner, Summerland. The Hilarity @ The Music Hall comedy series brings back Miss Richfield 1981 (6/9, 7/1 & 8/5) with her latest interactive improve show, “2012 – We’ll All Be Dead By Christmas!” New shows appearing live at the Loft will include London singer-songwriter, actor and former standup comedienne, Nellie McKay (6/23) and Jim’s Big Ego (6/29), rocking harder, fresher, louder, sweeter and better than everyone else. Described as a “national treasure” by The Times, Billy Bragg (6/30) will perform in the Historic Theater as part of the Intimately Yours concert series.

Extraordinary Cinema is programmed monthly, including Film Matters, Screen Classics, and KidsRULE! Movies. New programs under the Explore + Learn umbrella— everything from master classes to interactive Q&A sessions with experts—are announced regularly.
