An Award Winning Movie Line Up at The Music Hall

The Golden Globes were handed out last Sunday night and while everyone is talking about Meryl Streep’s speech, here in the marketing department, we’re talking about the fact that La La Land (the movie that delighted our Telluride by the Sea audiences this past September) won all seven of the awards that it was nominated for including Best Actor and Actress as well as Best Motion Picture (musical or comedy).

Moonlight, perhaps the movie that will give La La Land a run for it’s money this season, took home the Golden Globe for Best Motion Picture – Drama and was nominated for five more. Playing at the Historic Theater starting Friday January 20, make sure to see the movie that the New York Times has called the best movie of the year and the most likely to cause a La La Land upset.

Elle, a thrilling movie from France, won both of the categories it was nominated for, Best Motion Picture (Foreign Language) and Best Performance by an Actress in a Motion Picture. The critically acclaimed movie will playing at the Historic Theater starting on February 14, giving you plenty of time to see it before the Oscars,

Taking home a Golden Globe for Best Supporting Actor, was Aaron Taylor- Johnson, who stared in Nocturnal Animals, a movie also nominated for Best Director and Best Screenplay, as well as a SAG nomination for Outstanding Action Performance by a Stunt Ensemble. You can see it at the Historic Theater starting Friday January 27.  It was also directed by Tom Ford, the creative genius behind Gucci and Yves Saint Laurent.

These three movies will also be featured as part of our Show and Tell Series. Join us on Tuesday nights as our Movie Guru, Paul Goodwin moderates a discussion following each film. Added bonus, you’ll get popcorn and coffee while you’re there!

If you really want to be in the know about the nominated films, block off the weekend of February 17. That weekend, you’ll have the chance to see all of the Oscar Nominated Shorts. The Animated will be screening on Friday night, the Live Action on Saturday, and on Sunday we’ll be showing the Documentary ones.

See you at the movies!
