Help The Music Hall and the environment

Last month, when I first heard that we had been chosen, I knew I needed to learn more about this program. Thankfully, we have a board member who is the Vice President of Marketing for Hannaford, Maile Buker. I figured maybe other people might not be familiar with this as well, so I invited her to join us on our Facebook Live show last week to share more informations. For those of you who haven’t had a chance to watch it yet, I thought I’d share some of the things we learned.

I found it really interesting that this program has been going on for a little over two years. During that time they have worked with 2600 community nonprofits, sold around 375,000 bags and raised almost $400,000 total. Their commitment to enriching all aspects of the communities around them is just so impressive. It’s not just the quality of life that they are helping, these reusable bags have a significant impact on the environment. In fact last week we learned that one reusable bag is equal to 700 single use bags, keeping those bags from ending up in landfills.

By buying a bag, you’re not just helping out the environment, but you’re helping out programs here at The Music Hall like our School Days Series shows. So head over to the Hannaford on Islington Street, buy a bag or ten and help not only us, but help keep the Seacoast beautiful for generations to come.
