In Appreciation

It takes a number of contributing factors for an organization like TMH to grow and succeed; key among them is support from the corporate community. At The Music Hall, we are fortunate to have a dedicated group of more than 80 corporate sponsors, many of whom have been supporting us for over a decade.

To thank them for their generous support, we have designated January Corporate Appreciation Month as yet another way to shine a light on their contributions to The Music Hall community. To see some of the people behind our corporate sponsors, I would encourage you to check out our Sponsor Spotlight series, which over the last six months has featured Q&As with Mark Huddleston, the President of our Contributing Partner the University of New Hampshire; Michael Labrie, co-owner of the River House restaurant, which has been a Season Sponsor for five years; Jay McSharry, owner of Jumpin’ Jay’s Fish Cafe and co-owner of Moxy and the Franklin Oyster House, all of which were 2015 Telluride by the Sea Film Festival sponsors; M. Chris Dwyer, City Councilor and Vice President of RMC Research Corporation, a sponsor of our Writers programming for 10 years; and Jim Jalbert, President of C&J Bus Lines, this year’s Presenting Sponsor of The Ogunquit Playhouse at The Music Hall series.

What kind of impact do these and other corporate sponsors have on The Music Hall?  Well, that’s simple: it’s significant. Through their financial support we are able to bring a wide array of high-quality programming to both of our stages 52 weeks a year, which, in turn, contributes to the ongoing vitality of downtown Portsmouth and the Seacoast community. It goes beyond financial support, though. Our corporate sponsors are valued partners in all that we do. Some of these partnerships have been going strong for 15 years or more, as is the case with BayRing Communications, Harbour Women’s Health, Jardiniere Flowers, Portsmouth Regional Hospital, RiverWoods at Exeter, Smuttynose Brewing Company and The Portsmouth Brewery, and TMS Architects; and some are just beginning, as seen in first-year sponsors Atlantic Grill, Berwick Academy, Harbor Advisory Corporation, Heinemann Publishing, Hemenway Trust Company, Louie’s, Sig Sauer, Solari Salon & Spa, and The Friendly Toast.  Through these partnerships, we are working together to enrich the lives of the people in our community.

Please join us in thanking all of ourcorporate sponsors this month, and as you head-out to shop, dine or do business this winter, we hope you will consider supporting those that support us!
