We may be barely out of winter here (is there any more snow on the way?), but Christmas comes early to The Music Hall! This year, The Music Hall and Ogunquit Playhouse are proud to bring Elf The Musical to the Historic Theater stage for the holiday show. When I encounter Jackie Gadsden and Laurel Dunn in the coffee shop to talk about this article, I find them deep in conversation with a gentleman seated at their table. As he got up to leave, I was surprised to hear them exchange “nice to meet yous.” Apparently, he was in town from Hawaii visiting family and had tripped on his way into the shop. The three of them struck up a conversation that led to an invitation to their table. If you ever trip grabbing your morning coffee in downtown Portsmouth, I highly recommend running into Jackie and Laurel. There couldn’t be two more friendly, interesting, and charming women to help get your day back on track.Read More

I can’t help it, the show is so good, that not only can I not leave after my welcome speech, I end up watching the entire show. I’ve seen it four times to date…Read More

It’s that time of year again, it’s time for me to pull out my baking pans, remember how to use my oven, and start building my Gingerbread House. For those of you who know me personally, or have been following this blog for awhile, you know that I take this competition very seriously, I’m even a member of the committee that runs the competition. I’ve built a first draft of my model, I’ve reached out to expert bakers for tips and tricks (and I want to send a very big THANK YOU to Popovers on the Square for ALLLLLLL of their help!), and roped in some coworkers.Read More

We are so pleased to have C&J Bus Lines as a valued partner in The Ogunquit Playhouse at The Music Hall series. As we look toward our 2017 holiday production, Irving Berlin’s White Christmas, The Musical, I had an opportunity to ask C&J President Jim Jalbert a few questions about what he’s looking forward to from this show, his favorite memories from past years, and why supporting the community is central to C&J’s business.Read More
