It’s that time of year again, it’s time for me to pull out my baking pans, remember how to use my oven, and start building my Gingerbread House. For those of you who know me personally, or have been following this blog for awhile, you know that I take this competition very seriously, I’m even a member of the committee that runs the competition. I’ve built a first draft of my model, I’ve reached out to expert bakers for tips and tricks (and I want to send a very big THANK YOU to Popovers on the Square for ALLLLLLL of their help!), and roped in some coworkers.Read More

When it comes to meetings and events, studies show—and meeting planners know—that “authenticity” is more than a buzzword. For today’s attendees, having an authentic experience is the key to success. This means feeling a sense of place, eating local farm to fork food, and having time to explore the neighborhood.Read More

Why do I love sitting in the balcony at the Historic Theater? Let me count the ways. The sweeping vista of the gorgeous Music Hall interior, from crystal chandelier to historic stage, is unsurpassed. Nearly all the seats have this dazzling view, even in the side rows. Because of the steep pitch of the rows, shorter people like me have clear sightlines from every seat, irregardless if tall people sit in front of us. The acoustics are excellent. There’s an intimacy with the artists, as opposed to the feeling of being in a giant stadium where binoculars are needed when sitting in the balcony.Read More

We are now 28 days aways from the first performance of the Ogunquit Playhouse’s production of Disney’s Beauty and the Beast at our Historic Theater. I can not wait for this show to come to life on our stage. Growing up I was obsessed with Belle, she liked to read, had great clothes, was very independent, and well, she was a brunette, she understood me.Read More

I have Olympic fever. For the last week and a half I’ve celebrated with Michael Phelps and his record breaking 28 medals, been awed by Katie Ledecky, cried with Aly Raisman after her floor exercise routine, and I’m still reeling from the US losing to Brazil in beach volleyball last night. Needless to say, I’m a little bit sleep deprived. Read More

This Summer, my Aunt and I made a pact to have a “No Bummer Summer.” Our goal for this summer was to opt in to any and all fun activities, to do and see things that we haven’t done before, and in general, just to have a ton of fun. I took that premise, that was supposed to apply to my personal life, and I also made it my motto for what I do here at The Music Hall. Read More
