What is it?
A comprehensive three-month calendar featuring dozens of cool films in the hot summer weeks. The very best from independent and foreign cinema to the latest from Hollywood, with a unique Wednesday genre series running right down the middle - this year:
"Scope! - Must be seen on the BIG screen"
In this 21st Century-era of Netflix, cable television, and iPhones, movies are often seen in small multi-plexes, homes and even 'in the hand.' But these mediums of exhibition are limited in their effectiveness: many films simply do not translate to small screen viewing. On television King Kong is not a giant monster, he is a monkey. In letterbox, the stunning desert vistas of Lawrence of Arabia become pathetic miniature dioramas. Here is a series of classic motion pictures that can only be fully appreciated in big screen presentation. If you have seen these films before, but not in a theatre, you have not truly seen them. With its giant movie screen - the largest north of Boston - The Music Hall is the place to see this epic collection this summer! But don't take our word for it, see what David Lynch has to say about watching movies on the small screen: Caution, Strong Language. YouTube Video.
