Member Spotlight: Jeanne Supple

Membership Coordinator Alexis Hahalis chatted with Jeanne Supple from Measured Progress, one of our fantastic School Days Series sponsors, about the importance of family time, her love for The Music Hall, and the benefits of membership.

Tell us a little bit about yourself and your involvement with TMH.

I live in Dover, and am an active individual who hikes, bikes and kayaks. I work full time and love spending time with my three children, their significant others, and my four grandchildren. As often as time allows, I attend all sorts of TMH events, which, thankfully is quite often.

Your employer, Measured Progress, is a supporter of our School Days Series, and you’ve brought your granddaughters to several matinees. Are the two related? Which came first?

I’ve attended events at TMH with different family members for several years. Last year, when Measured Progress became a sponsor of the School Days Series, I was fortunate to able to bring each of my two granddaughters to a couple of the matinees. They are the perfect age to attend them, and it gives me a wonderful opportunity to spend 1:1 time with each of them.

We see you at the Hall often, for a variety of events. What has been your favorite show or most memorable moment?

Oh my goodness, I have to think about this one. Over the years I’ve attended concerts, the Met at The Music Hall operas, Opera Connections, author events at both the Historic Theater and the Loft, movies, Director’s Club, Film Club, guest appearances—and I’ve been lucky enough to go backstage for some of them (for instance old family friend Jay Leno)—and other events too numerous to mention.

I have to say my favorites (too difficult to find just one!) are the holiday productions. My three children are adults with partners, children, and lives of their own. My Christmas present to them each year is to create a memorable experience by treating them to the holiday show at The Music Hall. We get all dressed up, enjoy a lovely brunch at a local restaurant, and head to the last Sunday matinee of the annual holiday show. We fill a center balcony row and have watched Mary Poppins fly, felt “snow” at the end of White Christmas, and witnessed the Beast become a handsome prince. I can’t wait until December to attend Elf The Musical to see what memorable magic that event unfolds.

What show are you most looking forward to this season?

Again, a really difficult question to answer.  Can I say everything? Besides Elf with my family, Boz Scaggs is high on my list as well as several of the Extraordinary Cinema series selections and the Met operas. I look forward to receiving the monthly magazine each month to see what new shows and events are added to make sure I don’t miss anything!

How is Music Hall membership important to you? What would you say to convince someone who is not a member of TMH to join?

My membership allows me to experience an array of quality events without having to travel to Boston or other places. I can attend with family members and friends and know that we’ll leave each event having had a great time and experienced something special. Even though as a corporate member I could do these same events, it’s important for me to continue my individual membership because my membership dues and the costs of the individual events are on par with the quality of the events, and well worth the investment to keep The Music Hall and the Seacoast area a vibrant center for the arts.
