Rebirth Brass Band, Sweet Crude, and Jumbo Circus Peanuts

Join us for a New Orleans-themed concert in the Worth Lot (25 Maplewood Ave., Portsmouth, the parking lot behind The Loft). In partnership with the City of Portsmouth, The Music Hall will bring Jumbo Circus Peanuts, Sweet Crude, and Rebirth Brass Band to the stage in the Lot. Additionally, there will be food trucks, beer & wine available. Feel the jazz flow through you while dancing the warm June evening away with Portsmouth-based Jumbo Circus Peanuts and New Orleans bands Sweet Crude and Grammy Award-winning Rebirth Brass Band. With these tremendous musical powers combined with food, beverage, and community, the event is sure to be one to remember.

The Lineup

3pm – doors open

4pm – Jumbo Circus Peanuts
Styled in the manner of a New Orleans street band, the 10-piece Jumbo Circus Peanuts serve up an exuberant stage presence along with musical selections that delight young and old.

5pm – Sweet Crude
The six-piece band consistently delivers exciting shows featuring enough drums for a small marching band, exuberantly bellowed harmonies, and lyrics that jump from English to Louisiana French in a single verse.

6:30-8pm – The Grammy Award-winning Rebirth Brass Band
No band exemplifies the essence and soul of New Orleans like Rebirth Brass Band. While committed to upholding the tradition of brass bands, they’ve also extended themselves into the realms of funk and hip-hop to create their signature sound.

Rain-out Policy

  • Only steady, heavy rain, sustained high winds, or lightning will cause a rain-out
  • In the case of a rain-out, the concert will be moved indoors at the Historic Theater (28 Chestnut St., Portsmouth)
  • VIP and $15 ticket holders are guaranteed seats in the theater.
  • Refunds for the cost of the ticket (minus item fees) or credit for a future event will be issued for $12 ticket holders.

Portsmouth residents get all day free parking on Sunday at the Foundry Place Garage with proof of residency.
