Frida explores the world of Frida Kahlo, the infamous and influential Mexican artist, whose turbulent life and relationships inspired her artwork. Set in Mexico City, the biopic follows her lifelong marriage to mentor and fellow artist Diego Rivera, her affairs with Leon Trotsky and various women, and the influence of politics and romance on her art. Winner of two Academy Awards and starring Salma Hayek, Alfred Molina, and Geoffrey Rush.

Two excellent films by two superlative filmmakers. Each of these women have been guests at Telluride Film Festival and each of them has clearly earned their place among the finest living filmmakers today. Revisit these classics in the weekend context of a celebration of cinema. Introductions by one of The Music Hall’s female leaders in the arts.
