*Please note: Due to Saturday’s weather forecast, we are moving Kioea’s performances to Sunday, July 12 at 6:30pm and 8:30pm! All previously purchased tickets are good for Sunday’s show!

Join us out on Chestnut Street for a live performance under the Arch in an evening of great music and local cuisine by Mr. Kim’s Restaurant.

Kioea is an instrumental band based in the Seacoast Region. Members include Carand Burnet (guitar), Jonathan Blakeslee (double bass) and Jim Rioux (drums). Kioea’s soundscapes are created from intricate guitar solos, melodic bass grooves and rhythmic drums. Their songs blend American Surf Psychedelia with the global styling of Ethio Jazz, Anatolian Rock and Dub.

Named after an extinct bird that lived on the Island of Hawaiʻi, Kioea (pronounced kī’-ō-ē’a) translates to mean “stand tall.”  They’ve played shows and venues including Grain Surfboards, Re-Evolution Fest, Fall Equinox Fest in Exeter, and the Leavitt Theater.
