Baháꞌí Communities of the Seacoast present The Gate: Dawn of the Baháꞌí Faith

As the world suffers from the divisive forces of strife and intolerance, a new faith advocates the oneness of humanity’s major religions as a path toward world peace.

In the year 1844, many throughout the world from different faiths were expecting the return of one promised in their sacred scriptures. Religious teachings had taught the return of their prophet to help bring about the fulfillment of the teachings. In May of that year, a young merchant in Shiraz, Persia approached a traveler who was one of many searching for this return. This merchant, born in 1819, took the name the Báb meaning The Gate. This film brings to life this remarkable event in world history. In the following six years, The Báb’s teachings revolutionized the entire Persian culture such that in 1850, He was martyred by the Persian government. Aside from bringing about a new religious doctrine, the Báb foretold that another would follow Him who would bring about the unification of humankind. That person was Bahá’u’lláh, the founder of the Bahá’í Faith.

The Gate: Dawn of the Bahá’í Faith is the groundbreaking documentary that tells the amazing, true story of the Prophet Herald known as The Báb, His message and the origins of a new era in world religion.

The Seacoast Bahá’í communities warmly welcome everyone to learn more about the teachings of the Bahá’í Faith.

There will be brief introductory remarks followed by a panel discussion about the film following the showing.
