The Music Hall’s Resident Orchestra

What does it mean to be The Music Hall’s Resident Orchestra?

The Music Hall distinguishes the Portsmouth Symphony Orchestra as a resident orchestra by providing affordable box office subscription services, specialized marketing services, and seasonally based programming support along with discounted rental fees and services.

About Portsmouth Symphony Orchestra:

The Portsmouth Symphony Orchestra was founded in 1997 to provide an ensemble for amateur musicians to play together and perform for the community. Over the years it has turned its focus outward to the greater Seacoast community to provide a series of Mainstage concerts at The Music Hall, enrichment concerts for schools, MyPSO – a youth program for students, and the “Get Cozy” chamber music series. In 2011 John Page became music director, opening the doors to a new level of involvement in the greater Seacoast community. The orchestra is comprised of over 65 local professionals, educators, dedicated amateurs and advanced students, presenting three Mainstage concerts each season, two holiday pops concerts, and a New Year’s Eve concert and school-day concert for local students in partnership with The Music Hall.
