With Opener: YellowHouse Blues Band

“In the mood for some sophisticated, nasty, good-time, low-down funk?”

Cross Roads House is proud to present Grammy Award-Winning Funk, R&B, Soul Artist JON CLEARY & THE ABSOLUTE MONSTER GENTLEMEN on Wednesday, October 22, 2025 at 7:00PM  at The Music Hall in Portsmouth, NH.

Grammy Award-Winning Funk, R&B, Soul Artist JON CLEARY & THE ABSOLUTE GENTLEMEN is coming to The Music Hall. If you’ve seen Bonnie Raitt live, chances are you saw Jon Cleary at the piano because he was her piano player for over a decade. Cleary’s work pays obvious homage to the classic Crescent City keyboard repertoire created by such icons as Jelly Roll Morton, Fats Domino, Professor Longhair, Art Neville, Dr. John, and James Booker while also using it as a launching pad for a style that incorporates such other diverse influences as 70s soul and R&B, gospel music, funk, and much more. “Cleary can be an absolute monster on his own, but Cleary’s full combo R&B is as broad, deep and roiling as the Mississippi river…” raves Rolling Stone. “Jon Cleary is one of the most hellaciously talented purveyors of modern New Orleans inspired funk,” says Bonnie Raitt (11x-Grammy Award-Winner). Cleary has led his own group, the Absolute Monster Gentlemen, for over two decades now.

The opening act, The YellowHouse Blues Band is a 9-piece, high energy blues & blues rock band with horns and multiple vocalists, known for putting their own take on popular songs and making them their own.  Coming from the Seacoast of NH and ME, they have performed sold-out shows all over New England and are excited for their debut performance at The Music Hall!

All proceeds from this concert will benefit Cross Roads House.
