Live Show: Wednesday, April 8 at 7pm

What? Couch to Mic is a fast paced comedy performance and writing workshop. Participants will spend five weekly sessions writing and rehearsing their original five minute set. You are coached in a supportive and lively environment by creator and facilitator, Steph Lazenby. All of this leads to week five – a performance in front of a live audience! Stephanie hosts, comedians slay, audiences are entertained and everyone has a fantastic time!

Couch to Mic builds community and expands the definition of stand-up in a creative environment that is safe and inclusive for all people. Workshops are designed to be non-competitive with your fellow performers, so each person can develop their own style and be supportive to create a great show.

In five weeks you will:

  • Discover your authentic comedic voice.
  • Sleep better*
  • Write and rehearse your original stand-up ish piece.
  • Perform for a live audience

About the instructor:
Steph Lazenby (she/her) is a writer, performer and educator. She is driven to create original, comedic theatrical productions through artistic collaborations and performance spaces. Her current projects include: 

 Couch to Mic –  a fast paced comedy performance workshop. Since 2019 over one hundred burgeoning comedians in Maine, New Hampshire and Massachusetts have graced the C2M stage. The program builds community and expands the definition of stand-up in a creative environment that is safe and inclusive for all. 

Period.The End? – A comedy variety show about menopause,  perimenopause and related women’s health issues.

SoapOpera/SoapOpera – An improvisational episodic live soap opera. With an all-female cast. About a maple syrup dynasty.
