Jack Cheevers is the author of Act of War: Lyndon Johnson, North Korea, and the Capture of the Spy Ship Pueblo, winner of the 2014 Samuel Eliot Morison Award for Naval Literature. He worked as a newspaper reporter and editor for 27 years, including stints at the Los Angeles Times, The Oakland Tribune, and the Associated Press and United Press International bureaus in San Francisco. A Massachusetts native, he is a proud graduate of the University of California at Berkeley. He lives on a pond in New Hampshire.
James M. Tabor is the author of six books, including the award-winning Forever on the Mountain and bestselling Blind Descent. A creator of the History Channel’s Journey to the Center of the World, he has written for Time, Smithsonian, The Wall Street Journal, The Washington Post, and others. He lives in Waitsfield, Vermont.
Panel’s Moderator: Cathleen Toomey created and hosts the award-winning podcast, Seniority Authority, as well as the NHPBS show of the same name, which was released nationally. Cathleen was VP of Marketing for RiverWoods for 18 years and has been on the TEDx stage. A graduate of Fairfield University and Fordham University, she is an Exeter Public Library Trustee and avid reader.
