Join the Downeast Salmon Federation and Executive Director Dwayne Shaw at The Music Hall Members Club for an evening exploring the challenges, and opportunities, facing Maine’s sea-run fish and endangered Atlantic salmon.
In this engaging presentation, Breaking Barriers: Restoring Maine’s Wild Atlantic Salmon, Shaw will share stories from more than three decades of river restoration and fisheries conservation work across Downeast Maine. From dam removals and nature-like fishways to habitat restoration, and conservation hatcheries, the presentation will examine the barriers preventing fish from moving freely between Maine’s rivers and the Gulf of Maine — and the innovative efforts underway to reconnect these ecosystems.
Whether you are an angler, conservationist, or simply someone who cares deeply about the future of Maine’s waters, this event will provide an inspiring look at the work being done to restore sea-run fish populations for generations to come.
