Innovative Programming & Giving Back

Each season ignites a fire for the next. I am constantly inspired by the programming and conversations we are able to bring through The Music Hall’s doors. As we are celebrating our 140th birthday, we are excited to share the astonishing season to come. From stunning singers and musicians to captivating cinema and writers, there is truly something for everyone at The Music Hall, and that is all thanks to each of you.

Some highlights from the past year include our expanding Innovation + Leadership series, which continued to present big issues and ideas with engaging speakers and leaders in the field through authors, artists, movies, and community members. The popular Writers on a New England Stage series once again brought Pulitzer Prize-winning and New York Times bestselling authors to the stage and the airwaves. The Ogunquit Playhouse’s production of White Christmas drew 16,000 people to the Historic Theater for the holidays, and this year’s musical, Elf the Musical, promises to bring joy and laughter to make your Christmas season memorable.

After 24 years, the School Days Series continues to introduce thousands of students to live theater; this year 6,000 students attended a wide array of educational and fun shows. For the second year in a row, we were able to fully subsidize the School Days Series experience for more than 600 students from two local Title I schools. With support from generous corporate, foundation, and individual donors, we intend to continue—and double—this program during the coming year.

As Executive Director, it’s my goal to make our shows and events as accessible as possible. In addition to our subsidized School Days Series program, we offered 63 shows under $30 and hosted several free events this year. We want the Seacoast area to feel like The Music Hall is your Music Hall. I hope you will join us as we celebrate our 140th year. See you soon!
