On behalf of the Board of Directors, I am pleased to announce that the Board has unanimously elected Tina Sawtelle as the next Executive Director of The Music Hall, effective July 1, 2020. As you know, the Board formed a Search Task Force made up of current and former Board members to manage the process of selecting a new Executive Director. The Search Task Force hired an executive recruiter Margaret Genovese from the firm of Genovese Vanderhoof & Associates. Margaret led a nationwide search and presented the Search Task Force resumes from forty applicants. The Search Task Force reviewed all of these resumes and narrowed the field down to seven highly qualified candidates including our own internal candidates. The members of the Task Force were very proud to hear the many accolades from candidates around the country praising the quality of our diverse programming, our beautiful historic hall, and kudos to our bathrooms. The Board is very thankful to have a staff that passionately supports The Music Hall’s daily operations.
After much deliberation, the Search Task Force selected Tina Sawtelle as the best candidate to lead us through these unprecedented times, keep us financially stable, provide a new vision, and continue current successes. After a long period of social distancing, our members and the greater seacoast communities will again gather to hear live music and authors read excerpts from their books, take in a film, see a holiday show, and laugh again. We look forward to seeing you all again at the theater as soon as it’s safe to do so.
Please join me in supporting Tina Sawtelle as our next Executive Director. She has big shoes to fill, as we will miss Patricia Lynch’s vision, inspiration, and leadership. Until July 1, Patricia and I will be working on transitioning the leadership role to Tina. I very much look forward to great things in the coming season!
