Tips and tricks for the 26th annual Kitchen Tour

First and foremost, if you haven’t already purchased your tickets, make sure to get them before Saturday. I recommend this for two reasons: first, tickets are cheaper if you buy them in advance, second, you get to skip the line and head right to the first house on your list.

This is a walking tour so plan your parking in advance with this handy website link. There is parking available all over, including at the Little Harbour School. The walk is really pretty as you get a feel for just how charming this historic neighborhood is.

Trust me on this one: wear walking shoes. It’s a pretty decent walk and, as much as I love wearing my cute shoes, you are going to want to have comfortable shoes for this one. That way you’ll focus on how beautiful the neighborhood is and how AMAZING the kitchens are.

As always, you’ll need to wear a pair of our paper booties inside each home. Make sure you’ve got a pocket or bag to tuck them in as you go from house to house.

This tour is rain or shine and the way the weather has been lately it’s a good idea to have an umbrella and maybe some extra layers. In the meantime, we’re all doing a sun dance.

Make a meal plan. There are many great restaurants downtown. See your Kitchen Tour map for ideas or check out the list of those who partner with The Music Hall here.  As an added bonus, on the back of your Kitchen Tour ticket is a coupon good for 10% off at Popovers!

Lastly, if you didn’t get a copy of our Kitchen Tour cookbook last year, don’t forget to pick up your copy at the B2W Box Office at the Historic Theater for $8 each.

I hope you all have a fantastic tour!
