Tips to plan your Telluride weekend

Friday night is opening night, and the reviews for our first film, La La Land are phenomenal, meaning the lines are going to be long. To ensure that you can see the film make sure to get your tickets/ passes as soon as possible as this film is very likely to sell out. Also, if you are planning on doing dinner before this show, we highly recommend making reservations. Also, keep in mind that the doors open to Patron pass holders at 6pm, we’d suggest making reservations at restaurants who open earlier, such as the Franklin Oyster House (you’ll be able to take advantage of their Oyster Happy Hour) and Rudi’s, who are both just short walks from the Historic Theater.

This year we’ll be celebrating the start of TbtS at Brazo, located at 75 Pleasant Street, for our annual Patron Pass Party. The party will start as soon as the film ends at about 9:30pm. This party is always a great way to mingle with other Patron Passholders and Music Hall Staff.

Saturday morning we kick off our Loft movie series, Lost & Found, a series open to both Weekend and Patron Passholders. This series celebrates Telluride’s long history of rediscovering films that have been forgotten. Join us, and our Film Club host Trevor Bartlett as we rediscover three films that have been unearthed by the TFF. Seating is limited make sure to get there early.

On Saturday afternoon we’ll be showing a 1pm film and a 4pm film. Make sure to grab lunch before you join us for Things to Come and Neruda. With a two hour break before the 8pm film Arrival, we highly recommend that you make dinner reservations for 6pm. Portsmouth has a vibrant restaurant scene and they tend to fill up fast, make sure to plan ahead and get your reservations in early. For quick bites, check out Popovers, La Maison Navarre, and Dos Amigo’s. If you would like to dine after the 8pm movie, The District Restaurant, Friendly Toast, and the Portsmouth Brewery all serve their full menu until midnight.

On Sunday, our Patron Brunch is back at the District Restaurant, but this year we’re starting the brunch at 9am and it will run through 11am, if you’re planning on attending the first lost and found film, I’d suggest joining up at 9am, otherwise, take your time and stop in closer to 10:30am.

This year, our TbtS wrap party is changing venues! We invite all pass holders to join us after Maudie on stage at the Historic Theater. With food from the Portsmouth Brewery, come on stage and mingle with other movie buffs and Music Hall staff to talk about all of your favorite moments from the weekend!
I hope you’re all as excited as I am about this fantastic lineup, and I’ll see you all at the movies!
