Bringing New Orleans to Portsmouth

Summer is right around the corner and we are looking forward to kicking it off with a festive concert outside at the Worth Lot on Sunday, June 16. Working with the City of Portsmouth, we’ll host the Concert in the Lot right in our backyard. This is designed to demonstrate the untapped potential of the space as the city envisions upgrades to the Vaughan, Worth, and Bridge Lot area of the city.

Join us for an afternoon and evening with food trucks, beer, wine, and, of course, fantastic New Orleans-themed music by three incredible groups: Jumbo Circus Peanuts, Sweet Crude, and the Rebirth Brass Band.

Starting at 4pm, dance along with Jumbo Circus Peanuts, local legends who serve up a lively stage presence along with musical selections that delight young and old. Following that, Sweet Crude brings their drums to the stage, along with exuberantly bellowed harmonies and lyrics that jump from English to Louisiana French in a single verse. The night’s headliners are none other than the Grammy Award-winning Rebirth Brass Band. No band exemplifies the essence and soul of New Orleans like Rebirth Brass Band. While committed to upholding the tradition of brass bands, they’ve also extended themselves into the realms of funk and hip-hop to create their signature sound.

Get your tickets now for the Concert in the Lot. Tickets go on sale to everyone on Saturday, March 16 and are $12 GA or $25 for VIP with reserved chairs in a priority seating section near the stage. Driving downtown to the concert? The City of Portsmouth is offering a $3 flat rate fee at the Foundry Place Garage for concert-going ticket holders.
