Freewaves Friday for July 6, 2018

July is a busy month for music at The Music Hall. For a complete listing of upcoming events, visit the Calendar.  Country music fans will want to get ready for Thompson Square on July 21. This dynamic husband and wife duo have earned comparisons to Lady Antebellum and The Civil Wars. Their harmonies are gorgeous! The Cowboy Junkies return to town on July 20 touring behind their forthcoming album, All That Reckoning. Mojo magazine gives the release a five-star review.

The Loft hosts a rare appearance by the beautiful and gifted singer/songwriter Lauren Ruth Ward on July 19. Her live shows are intense and have earned her comparisons to Janis Joplin. And for something completely different—the Grammy Award-winning desert blues group Tinariwen comes to Portsmouth, NH on July 25. Their music is hypnotic. NPR calls them “music’s true rebels.” Casting forward—tomorrow (July 7) tickets will go on sale to Music Hall members for The Wood Brothers. They will play the historic theater on November 3. This week’s playlist incorporates music from some of these special artists. I hope you are having a wonderful summer. Thank you for listening!
